This Week for writing we had to create a figurative language story that includes 5 or more of each language feature such as metaphor,simile,personification,onomatopoeia. Next we had to choose any topic witch I chose a natural Disaster’ Thunderstorm and We had to use interesting words that would get the readers attention.
Task Description This week Friday 21st 2023 Team-Tui learned how to use the Cartesian plane/ X-Y: axis! we also reflected on the X-Y axis. This was a really interesting maths activity and it was really fun finding out the coordinates for Bob,Sam,Charlie,Amy. My favourite part of this maths activity was learning about reflection and what it means and that reflection just means the same person but on the other side.
This week’s Cyber-smart lesson was about learning how to post a quality blog comment. A quality blog comment is a comment that is thoughtful,helpful and positive. To start a quality blog comment you have to start with a greeting like Kia Ora my name is Rangi then you have to say something positive like I really liked this post because the pictures and the facts make it very interesting and entertaining to read. After that you have to say something though full like Have you ever thought of adding more picture and maybe a little bit more facts in your post. Lastly you ask a question like How long did this post take you to make this?
Task Description
In the holidays my cousins and I went to go watch the new movie called spider-man across the spider-verse and I decided to write about the movie and what I liked about and also I decided to write cool things about my favourite character Miles Morales. My favourite scene of the movie was when miles fights the spot. Spot is the villain in the movie anyways I would give the movie a 9.6/10 because i liked the way they used all different kinds of colours and also used different kinds of spider-man in the movie. I also like the music that they used for the movie.

For this cyber-smart task we had to read a story then after we read it we had to basically recreate it but on sumo paint.
Sumo paint is a website which lets you draw what ever you want and has very interesting features.
What we re-created the story given and created a piece of art that relates to the story.
On Tuesday morning room 11 attended kelly sports. The sport that we were playing was rugby league. We were doing rugby drills and practicing for the rugby tournament next week. It was fun learning things about rugby such as playing the ball and dummy half and much much more. This week’s kelly sports was a very good opportunity for the people that are in the rugby team because this will make you more confident and it will make you have more courage. I enjoyed doing kelly sports because it gave me an opportunity to play a sport that I’m not very good at. I liked kelly sports because I had to challenge myself to be strong and do my best at tackling. Joshua was the person who stood out to me the most because he always tried his best and he also got hurt but he got back up and kept going.

Last week on Thursday Team Tui went to Waka -Ama to learn how to paddle in a Waka and we also went there to learn all kinds of different ways to paddle in a waka and to learn more about waka’s in general.
Yesterday I had to write about the sport basketball and the most important thing to know in basketball is number 1 the rules. To play basketball there are a few things you need to know. Number 1 (shooting) to play basketball you must have very decent shooting and also you need to know what to do when you are being defended by your opponent. Number 2 how to play to win you need to use team work and you need to try get the basketball in the basketball hoop and whoever has the most points at the end of the game wins. By the way the top 5 best teams are Number 1 Chicago Bulls Number 2 Los Angeles Lakers Number 3 Boston Celtics Number 4 Utah Jazz and Number 5 Golden State Warriors. Also the Top 5 best players of all time Are Number 1 Michael Jordan and Number 2 Lebron James,Number 3 Kobe Bryant,Number 4 Kareem-Abdul-Jabaar,Number 5 Stephen Curry.
This Term our school had a lock down practice and when the lock down practice happened we heard a siren and it said this is a lock down drill lock all the doors and get down on the floor so we locked all the doors and turned off all the lights then we had to wait for 30 to 40 minutes then after the lock down drill we had to write why lock down drills are so important.
